North Carolina requires your registration number on both the port and starboard sides of the bow. That's why every order includes two matching sets — and you can add a spare set for when the ramp takes a bite out of one.
The North Carolina Rules
- Both sides of the bow, reading left to right
- Plain block letters at least 3 inches tall — no script or italic fonts
- A color that contrasts with your hull
- A space or hyphen between letters and numbers: NC 1234 AB or NC-1234-AB
- Validation decal within 6 inches following the number on each side
- No other numbers on the bow
- Jet skis and personal watercraft follow the same rules

Easy to Apply Yourself
- 1. Clean the spot with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely.
- 2. Line it up on the forward half of the bow and tape the top edge in place.
- 3. Peel the backing and press the numbers down firmly, working from the center out.
- 4. Peel the transfer tape slowly at a sharp angle, then repeat on the other side.
- Tip: apply in the shade when it's above 50°F for the best stick.
